이번 TEDxKAISTSalon 이벤트는 'Now'라는 공통된 주제를 가지고 하는 연속된 행사로 기획되었습니다.
첫번째 살롱 이벤트 : Right Now

더 멋진 내일을 위해, 미래를 위해. 우리는 항상 미래를 위한 오늘을 외칩니다. 하지만 정작 우리는 '지금'을 살고 있다는 사실, 잊고 있지는 않은가요?

우리는 시간의 흐름을 크게 과거, 현재, 미래라고 말합니다. 그리고는 앞으로 다가올 미래를 위한 준비를 해야한다며 지금 당신에게 주어진 삶을 그 노력에 투자해야한다고들 이야기하곤 하죠. 그러다 보니 '지금' 당신이 할 수 있는 것과 해야 하는 것, 그리고 하고 싶은 것을 못하고 있다는 생각, 해본 적 있으신가요? 예를 들면, '가깝고 현실적인 미래가 아닌, 허황된 꿈을 위한 작은 발걸음', 혹은 '지금 당장 현재에 존재하는 나와 내 주변의 무언가를 위한 노력'과 같은 것들 말이죠. 이번 TEDxKAIST에서는 '지금' 이 순간, 자신이 할 수 있고 해야한다고 느끼는 것을 하는 사람들의 이야기를 통해, 의미 있는 가치와 아이디어를 나눕니다.

First Salon event : Right Now

We frequently lead our lives for a better tomorrow and a grander future, wishing for a future instead of simply living ‘today’. Our foresightedness hopefully haven’t made us forget of the fact that we live ‘today’ and not in the future.

Time is segmented into the past, the present, and the future, and commonly we believe that the life we are given in the present should be invested in our efforts to construct a better future. This unequal distribution of effort for the future might lead oneself to question whether or not sacrifice is being made on those that we could do, should do, and/or want to do. Such actions that will lead you a step closer to a vague and distant dream not realizable in the near future or efforts that will better me and those around me in the present, for example. In our TEDxKAIST Salon, we will share stories of people who have acted RIGHT NOW on efforts that they could and should have performed in order to instill the necessity for action.
