In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ar. Utsav Kamboj

I am an architect and urban designer invested in the field of education & content creation. Through my posts, I simplify design ideas and share my expertise in working with the latest and most innovative materials and building technology in the industry. 💡My transition from being an architect to an entrepreneur was the result of a reality check that happened to me right after I graduated. The AEC industry which seemed like a dreamy world from the outside, wasn’t really that fancy from within. While working in the field, I realised that there was a huge skill gap between what was taught in college v/s what happened in the industry. ✨ I learned everything on the go while making my fair share of mistakes to master professional skills. But after successfully completing 25+ projects, I realised that I spent a significant amount of time in experimentation and learning. This made me wonder if I could help freelancers, fresh graduates, and young design firms save the time and effort spent in self-learning. So, I decided to venture into the realm of content creation to coach young designers about the practical aspects of the profession. ✅ It was this decision that led to the birth of Archea - a platform where I collate all my experiences and learnings into actionable courses about architecture, interior design, etc. Through Archea, I help architects and designers unlock work opportunities, get unstuck, and achieve the work-life balance they want. 🎀 Leading entrepreneur and AEC publications such as The Entrepreneurethics, Architecture+ Design, Entrepreneurs Today, The Open House, Home Publication, and India Best Homes have featured me. I have delivered 20+ podcasts alongside AEC who’s who namely Hiren Patel, Sanjay Puri, and Sebastian Zachariah I have also been invited as a panellist for 5+ conferences on platforms such as FOAID and Wade Asia.

Deepak Pareek

I was born in a very small town called ‘Nokha’ in Rajasthan, India. When I was a year-old, my family moved to Calcutta, and ever since, I have been a local boy here. I went to Don Bosco School, Park Circus for my schooling years. Being an average student and an introvert all my life, I did not even have the courage to raise my hand to either ask a question or answer one. When I used to see my classmates answer questions confidently, I used to feel a little inferior. Cut short to the XIth standard, the only thought I had was “enough is enough, I have to do something abut this”. something about this”. Like 99% of the people, I had a fear of public speaking so I decided to fight it. In school, I got an opportunity to host a Patriotic Song Competition. Needless to say, since I was doing something like this for the first time, I was nervous and I screwed up the entire event in front of a thousand students. Now that was my first public speaking experience. Moral of the story? In order to fight the fear, you need to face it. Simple! After the first gig, I kept on participating in school/college events and kept speaking at local events. Now when I look back at these events (even though I have embarrassed myself), I feel one thing is more important than anything else and that, is the START! Now, I feel privileged to have spoken at TEDx, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bombay, IIM Calcutta, FMS Delhi, SRCC, NMIMS, AIESEC Youth Speak Forum, and more such schools and colleges across the country. After getting done with school, I went ahead and pursued my Bachelors from St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta. Now if you happen to be from Calcutta or know anything about the city, you’d know that if you’re a commerce student, one of the hot career choices happens to be CA + B.Com and needless to say, I chose that option too. No pressure, right? Haha, that’s what you’d assume. Fortunately or unfortunately (I don’t know), I cleared the foundation (CPT then) exam. When I gave the intermediate (IPCC then) exams, I cleared the first Group but flunked the second Group multiple times, which is when I decided that this is not something I want to do anymore. I used to feel pathetic doing something I didn’t feel strongly about and as a result, I used to be locked in my room watching YouTube videos. Sadly, my parents used to think I’m busy studying for my CA exams *sorry mummy papa*. Hold this thought for a while. At 19, when I was in my second year of graduation, I started my own venture called ‘Career Keeda’ where the idea was to impart profession-specific practical training and provide skill development courses. The larger vision was to revolutionize the Indian Education System. At 22, I finally mustered up the courage to make a YouTube channel and start making videos. I used to attend family functions where the conversation between me and my relatives would be something like this. Random Uncle aur beta, kya kar rahe ho aajkal? Me uncle, I’m a social media influencer! Random Uncle beta woh sab toh theek hai, lekin karte kya ho? At 24, I started working on a new venture called ‘Iceberg Creations’ where we forayed into Media Production and Filmmaking. Our first film is called ‘Akorik’ spearheaded by Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta and actor Victor Banerjee. The vision with Iceberg Creations is to make gripping movies, both with a social message as well as the ones full of entertainment. Apart from this, I am super passionate about cricket and as a result, I have played professionally under the Cricket Association of Bengal. Even if it’s a Test Match, you’ll find me glued to the TV screen. The belief in one is simple: “If you don’t try, you’ll never know just what you’re worth!” So, let’s have a little self-belief and conquer the world! 🚀

Rishabh Aggarwal

I was thrown in the very deep center of the construction industry in India, All by chance. I inherited an already 45 year old business of construction materials and have now given it 15 of my own. Evolution of construction and materials in India is something I have witnessed very closely. Architects like me as a podcaster. Builders love me as a supplier. Civil Engineers treat me like a brother and an outsider who is learning so much from them. Interior designers find me funny and quite talkative. Students of the AEC industry reach out to me and send me their queries. I am not a Civil Engineer but I love construction. I am not an architect but I love design. I have a firm belief that I push everywhere and that is to "Build Right the FIRST time!". I am respectful of the environment and firmly believe that there is this undying effort needed from all of us to build safe and build sustainable. I have placed myself in the shoes of all the brilliant individuals I meet almost everyday and that is where I get inspired- Mostly to understand what is right and needs to be done and sometimes, though rarely, about what I will never do. I am on a path where my thoughts and ideas are being shaped around what I read, what I avoid consuming (diet wise), who I meet, but most importantly why I do what I do in the hours between waking up and going to bed. Luckily, its all been so sweet, these past few months and i dare say that my mission statement is just finding its foot in this journey. I have gurus who are merely 25 years old and I have friends who have crossed 60. This phase of my life can be summed up by a single word. Curiosity. I am curious to learn, to know more and to form a very sound mind analytically and emotionally. I have found so far that I am a non-conformist and unapologetic in my actions. That is what gives me the freedom to act on my beliefs and ofcourse nothing is possible without the undying support of my loved ones. Professionally, I am a business owner where I trade multiple types of construction materials and manufacture and trade some materials too. I give advise/ consult only when I have found the right answer. This comes with the 60+ years of pedigree in this space. My grandfather was a non-conformist and so was my father- this trait I have inherited from them along with the business. Academically, I am a Mechanical and Automotive Engineer from IP University, Delhi followed by a Masters in Industrial and Operations Engineering with a minor in Finance from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
