The beauty of a puzzle lies in the diversity of its pieces. Every piece comprising every puzzle has a story waiting to be told, an idea waiting to be explored, and opportunities to unravel connections that widen horizons and foster learning and discovery. While pieces differ, some having more tabs than sockets, straight edges than curves, or coloured patterns, each has a purpose and completes the bigger picture when assembled in the aggregate.

As with piecing together a puzzle, progress toward meaningful systemic change is a slow, meticulous process of trial and error. One piece at a time, we must reflect thoroughly on our past and present complexities to imagine new, equitable, inclusive and different futures. The complete picture is up to us to determine.

In the words of Stanley Paskavich, “We're all pieces of the same ever-changing puzzle; some connected for mere seconds, some connected for life, some connected through knowledge, some through belief, some connected through wisdom, some through Love, and some connected with no explanation at all”. With countless pieces scattered before us, we invite you to join us at TEDxWesternU as we highlight ideas worth spreading, the pieces driving meaningful change in puzzles in progress.
