Bruno Giussani is an author, curator of ideas and podcaster. For nearly 20 years, until 2024, he was the global curator and European director of TED and the cofounder and lead curator of its climate initiative, Countdown. He has a sharp eye for happenings at the intersection of geopolitics, climate, the economy and technological innovation. At TED, he curated more than 1,000 TED Talks — including, famously, two by His Holiness Pope Francis — and interviewed leading figures on the world’s most pressing issues, in addition to being a member of the organization's leadership team for a dozen years and hosting numerous events around the world.

Prior to joining TED, Giussani was an internet columnist for the New York Times and a writer for numerous other outlets in Switzerland, and in several other countries; the head of online strategy at the World Economic Forum; a JS Knight Fellow and an Affiliated Fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University; and a lecturer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. He was also for five years, until 2022, the chairman of the Geneva International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights, and for 24 years, until 2023, a member of the Board of Swiss software company Tinext, which he cofounded. He graduated from Geneva University and has authored or coauthored several books. He advises public and private organizations and think tanks. He lives in Switzerland.
